This semester we learned how to add color to metal by gilding colored silver leaf sheets onto the metal! I love the colors and I think they turned out stunning!!! So happy with how it looks. Here's my metals lineup for the semester! And some shots of my sculptural teapot for ceramics! I redid the teapot I attempted last semester, and it turned out perfect! Will get better pictures later of course :)

I got my copy the past Spirit Dragon bust spray painted, and then took it home and did the finishing touches!! I love how the colors turned out, and I'll definitely be getting some better shots later! As a fun little side note, I drew a cute dragon for good luck on my Chemistry Lab final...
So my ceramics class is doing a pottery sale, and they let me bring my dragons!!! I got my major project all cut out, and got the hinge attached! I also set the stone in my minor project. I found out last night that the slip mold that I made for my cup trade project wasn't going to be done in time to actually use it for the project, so I had to quickly throw 12(and an extra for Carle) cups, set them in front of a fan to dry, and texture them so that they would be ready to be fired as soon as possible! They aren't pretty, but they'll do in a pinch! And last but CERTAINLY not least, I stayed up all night making this awesome giant blue dragon!!! I just love her!
Got these little guys all painted up!! Really love how they turned out. I also got my glazed dragons back and they look perfect!
I'm really having trouble with my major project. Every step so far has been a pain in the butt to do, and I'm really not loving it! I don't like chasing, and the hydro press mold broke, forcing me to chase both the shape and the texture into the metal. As for my minor project, I really like the concept, and can't wait to see it completed. My minor project is based on the Leaves of Lorien from Lord of the Rings. In other news, I made 6 medium dragons for the upcoming Fairytale Festival, and I am absolutely in love with this set!!
Based on my research of the Haniwa Horse Head, I came up with a dragon bust that represents both the element of "Spirit" and my guardian dragon spirit. Haniwa sculptures were thought to house spirits, so I thought it was fitting. He's all sculpted and ready to be fired!
So my teapot came out of the glaze firing, and apparently the Cassie's Turquoise ran a lot more than I'm used to! Also it sealed up my spout! So I have to fix it... But I LOVE the way the colors turned out I finished carving the dragon teapot, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! And I also carved the dragon egg cup for the cup trade at the end of the semester!

Welcome!
Hi! I'm Ali. I love to draw and paint, and here you can see the results. I've been drawing since I was 2 years old. It's become a passion of mine, as well as something that I can find refuge in. I hope you enjoy my work!
