2-Dimensional Design
The goal of this project was to see how a 2-dimensional design changed when applied to a 3-dimensional object. It allowed me to explore painting on a surface that I was otherwise unfamiliar with, showing how art can be used differently than traditionally thought of.
Media: Acrylic Paint, Skateboard
Dimensions: 20” x 8”
Objectives Represented: Color, Line, Texture, Balance, Harmony, Shape, Form, Space, Emphasis, and Contrast.
This piece demonstrates a change from one object to another, creating a flowing transition, with clear direction and movement. I chose to do two transitions instead of one.
Media: Prismacolor Markers
Dimensions: 2” x 3” each
Objective Represented: Movement, Line, Color, Form, Space, Balance, Emphasis, and Direction.

[9] ARTS 304 : Book Wyrm For this piece we were to use only complementary colors (red violet and yellow green), black, and white, we were to create a fantasized self portrait. Fundamentals of Drawing/Drawing Composition
[5] ARTS 231 : Homage to an Artist For this project we were instructed to create a piece in the style of another artist. I chose to use Brian Froud, as he was an inspiration during my childhood. His use of many different characters to create a complex scene is very recognizable, and was interesting to reproduce. Media: Mixed Media, Charcoal, Ink Dimensions: 20” x 24” Objectives Represented: Line, Shape, Form, Emphasis, Balance, Color, Space, Texture, Harmony, Scale, and Contrast. | [6] ARTS 231 : Introspective Self Portrait We were instructed to create an introspective self portrait using five or more objects that are important to us. The symbolism in this piece is incredibly personal in nature, detailing my struggle with suicide/mental illness, as well as my love of fantasy and wonder. The three monsters that are shown around the piece represent my mental health diagnoses and are mobile. They can be moved around showing that mental illness can show up anywhere. These monsters were originally created by the artist Toby Allen. Media: Mixed Media Dimensions: 22” x 30” Objectives Represented: Color, Line, Texture, Form, Shape, Balance, Unity, Contrast, Emphasis, Scale, and Value. |

Using MANUAL mode (M) or BULB mode (B) take at least 20 pictures; Present 5 for screen projection and critique next class. The image must show the effect of a slow shutter speed of 1/30th of a second or slower. As it was nearing Halloween, I wanted to create a ghost, using found backdrops in my hometown. This project was recently chosen to be part of the 2018 Juried Student Exhibition at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries.
